Birdwatching

一.教材分析

    本单元的中心话题是birdwatching，介绍了扎龙自然保护区的现状，阐明了其对于鸟类的意义以及保护湿地的重要性

    在教材编排上，welcome to the unit很好地引入话题，让同学先了解一下鸟类，熟悉本科单词。reading部分是重点讲解部分。不仅要带领学生熟记生词，句式，词组等，更要理解课文大意，深入挖掘深意，理解保护生态的重要性。grammer部分主要讲解表目的动词to的用法和verb+objects+to-infinitives。integrated skills部分主要以听力形式训练学生的听力。study skills部分以词性转换为主，+er,or,ist将动词转化为名次，要求学生掌握其规律。task部分训练学生的写作能力，熟练掌握句式和行文结构，突出主旨大意，明确积极方向。

四 教学过程

1.Show the following pictures to students and get them to talk about it.

2.Get the students to listen to the tape and find the answers to the following questions.

1. What and where is Zhalong?

2. Why is it a great place for wildlife?

3. What animals live in the special place? Why?

4. Where is the important living area of the rare red-crowned cranes?

5. Why are birds and wildlife in danger?

6. What do many tourists go there?

7. What do the members of the Birdwatching club do?

3.Let students read through the whole article and learn about what every paragraph talks about.

4.Get the students to learn about the key words and phrases.

词汇：reserve,province ,wetland ,crane,society,record,describe,government,prevent,rare,count

词组：provide sth for sb ,all year round,a short stay,in order to,lead to,make laws,prevent sb from ding sth,invite sb to do ,understand the importance of，as a result

句式：hope+从句（将来），it is adj for sb to do sth

5.Let students talk about the theme of the article.

7.Get students to retell the passage orally first and then fill in the blanks

We’re red-crowned cranes. We like living in wetlands. We live in Zhalong Nature reserve. Zhalong provides us enough food. It’s our shelter. Every year many tourists come to see us. We had a happy life there. But there years ago, it changed. There was a big fire in our ideal home, and some of people wanted to change our home into farm. The number of us is getting smaller and smaller. There’re only about 500 in China now. We are rare and endangered animals. We want to have a stay in Zhalong. Please tell the government the importance of protecting wildlife. We want to come back home! Please help us!
